Dante O. Benini e Luca Gonzo DESIGNER
Dante O. Benini was born in Milan, and it was in Venice in the studio of Prof. Carlo Scarpa that he received his first professional training, later deepened in Brazil, where he graduated in 1979 from the Federal Do Para University and where he opened his first professional studio. Over the years he moved his business to Milan too, recalled by important European-based assignments, so much so that in 1988 he was placed by Class Europe among the 15 most prestigious Italian architects. In Milan he founded Dante O. Benini & Partners (DOBP) which follows architectural and urban planning projects at national and international level.
He worked as Visiting Professor at renowned American and European universities and his publications are several, including “Dante O. Benini. Intuition and precision". The prominent contests where he took part brought him mentions and awards, such as the International Award for Technology in Architecture in 1988, the Vergilius d’Oro in 2007 and other acknowledgements for the restoration of the ex-building Olivetti ICO Centrale located in Ivrea.
Luca Gonzo graduated in Architecture in 1996 with full marks and mention for his thesis. Enrolled in the Register of the Order of Architects of Milan, he gained his first experiences in the province and then he grew exponentially, becoming the youngest partner of the DOBP studio and the leading architect of many well-known projects: Car-park in Alessandria and Milan, TAI Tower of 120 m in Istanbul, Vodafone HQs, Experience centre and offices of all Italy, Lamborghini Center in Milan, New Fair in Moscow, Borsa Italiana new offices and Palazzo Mezzanotte Congress Centre.
With Dante O. Benini he signed the TESO radiator for Antrax, winner of Interior Innovation Award, Red Dot Award and Good Design Chicago Atheneum Award. Many of his articles and interviews have appeared in the major architecture magazines and important conferences in the field of architecture are frequently held by him.
