ENVIRONMENT | NUO pliable wood: craftsmanship and innovation
NUO Pliable wood
Giorgetti's steady search for new products continues through the use of innovative and sustainable materials.
An example of innovation is the Clori armchair with pouf, by Carlo Colombo, in the version with pliable wood upholstery presented at Milan Design Week 2024. Giorgetti was the first company in its sector to use this material.
The NUO pliable wood, consisting of high-quality wood veneer from a sustainable supply chain, with forests in Eastern Europe and North America, is glued onto a cotton backing and then laser cut. This new technique provides flexibility and softness of touch.
An innovative but also sustainable material: completely animal free, NUO contributes to mitigating climate change by reducing the carbon footprint in the production process by 40% per square metre.
The use of this material is part of the sustainability path undertaken by Giorgetti.
